2022

My presence on the blog this year has been sketchy at best. It’s been a really difficult year for me(and many others) and I’m really ready to see the year end; provided that 2022 behaves better. I’m ready for a clean slate and a better creative year.

For the first time in quite a while, I’m going to go back to setting literary goals for myself. In addition to trying to visit some places on my literary bucket list(if CoVid cooperates), I also want to  have a literary event in February and focus on building an actual library in my house or in a potential she salon. There are a few other goals on this list that I’m not ready to share yet but the goal is to write them down and make them happen. Because…life is short!

Happy New Year!

Surface Love

I’ve loved on the surface

Fleetingly in a way that one does

In their early 20’s like free love is still a thing

Superficially replacing one heart or part

 With another at will

And when it’s over, it’s done

Like a page in a vintage photo album

I love soul deep now

Letting it seep into

The cracks and crevices of my heart

Clutching all the joy, pain and exhaustion

Knowing that sometimes

Forever isn’t long enough

For the love that truly matters
